About Ettan

Early Life and Career

Ettan Bazil began his professional journey as a gas engineer and plumber, gaining hands-on experience working directly with households, landlords and property managers. His early trade background shaped his understanding of real-world operational challenges, from emergency repairs to workforce shortages and inefficiencies in the maintenance sector. In 2016, he founded Elite Heating & Plumbing, growing it into a successful business employing multiple engineers and apprentices. This blend of practical experience and business leadership laid the foundation for his transition into technology-driven problem-solving within the construction and property industries.

Professional Background

Building on his trade roots, Ettan moved into the software and innovation space to create solutions that modernise property maintenance. In 2019, he founded Help me Fix, a remote video-triage platform that connects tenants with qualified engineers, reducing unnecessary callouts and improving repair efficiency. The platform has since been implemented across more than 250,000 homes in the UK. In addition to Help Me Fix, he launched RAFT, a not-for-profit programme to support apprentices and new entrants into the construction centre with routes to work and free digital tools. His work spans operational design, apprenticeship development, workforce technology, and scalable SaaS solutions that support efficiency and industry growth.

Personal Values

Ettan’s work is shaped by strong values centred around innovation, inclusion, and skills development. He is a vocal advocate for apprenticeships, emphasising their role in building a sustainable, skilled workforce for the future. His writing and interviews highlight a belief that the construction and property sectors should be accessible to all, offering long-term career paths and meaningful opportunities. Ettan also champions the use of technology as a way to modernise traditional industries—reducing waste, empowering workers, improving service levels, and making the sector more efficient while preserving its craftsmanship roots.
